Manager, Investor Relations & Public Relations
Description:Agios Pharmaceuticals is focused on discovering and developing novel investigational medicines to treat cancer and rare genetic disorders of metabolism through its scientific leadership in the field of cellular metabolism. Agios has multiple first-in-class lead investigational medicines in clinical and/or preclinical development. All Agios programs focus on genetically identified patient populations, leveraging our knowledge of metabolism, biology and genomics. Agios is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual who thinks strategically to help create, support and deliver aspects of Agios Pharmaceuticals’ Investor Relations and Public Relations programs. This is a visible and critical role and is an outstanding opportunity for an energic professional to be a key contributor within an exciting growth company. Working together with our Senior Director of Investor Relations & Public Relations, this person will be responsible for: • Writing, designing, managing and delivering corporate materials, as well as managing meetings and events to support investor and media relations initiatives. In particular, create and manage investor materials, including drafting written and/or or visual content for investor presentations, press releases, scripts, web pages, backgrounders, PowerPoint slides, and other key communications. • Managing IR conferences and roadshows, including scheduling, team participation, materials and investor outreach, developing content for and executing R&D days, and attending banking conferences • Assisting in developing content for quarterly financial results conference calls • Ensuring management is prepared for conference calls and one-on-one meetings • Building and maintaining relationships with institutional investors • Enhancing relationships with sell-side analysts • Tracking analyst models and consensus estimates • Analyzing shareholder base and conducting investor targeting • Maintaining internal Q&A for use by approved spokespeople • Monitoring key competitors and peers and key issues Successful candidate will have: • BA or BS Degree; 4+ years’ investor relations or public relations experience • Investor relations (in-house or agency), equity research (covering biotechnology) or buy-side experience required • Strong communicator oral and written - able to draft text appropriate for a wide range of audiences, ensuring that accuracy of scientific and business details are maintained even when text is simplified • Strong attention to detail, with ability to verify and proofread own work, check facts and calculations, identify inconsistencies, and actively maintain a current understanding of company and product information • Excellent teamwork & interpersonal skills to work with others and integrate him/herself smoothly and manage external partners including IR and PR consultants • Ability to grasp goal and scope of individual projects, work with team to organize timelines and details, monitor progress and manage projects to successful completion. • Take responsibility for following tasks through to completion and helping team to use his or her abilities to the fullest extent. Develop strong grasp of company and department objectives, and find ways to anticipate and fulfill needs in advance. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline line driven environment • Ability to interact with senior management • Experience working in or supporting pharmaceutical or biotech R&D strongly preferred
