Director, Public Relations and Corporate Communications
Description:As the nation’s children’s hospital, the mission of Children’s National Medical Center is to excel in Care, Advocacy, Research and Education. We accomplish this through: •Providing a quality health care experience for our patients and families. •Improving health outcomes for children regionally, nationally, and internationally. •Leading the creation of innovative solutions to pediatric health challenges. Develops and executes a comprehensive, integrated vision for external and internal communications at Children’s National Health System, encompassing media relations, crisis management, internal and corporate communications. Key liaison to government and community affairs. Provides oversight on all organizational publications, print and electronic. Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 12 years year's of related and progressive experience. Must have strategic media relations experience that encompasses national, top tier media. The ideal candidate will have a combination of client and agency side experience, including some experience in hospital based health care. A minimum of five years supervisory experience. Understands the role and power of strategic public relations and corporate communications in integrated marketing programs. Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills. Has a proven keen sense for developing tactics to meet goals and objectives. Monitors budgeted resources and expenditures accurately. Must be customer-service focused and be able to work as a team. Leadership and team building skills.
