Description:Primary Position Responsibilities: Serve as the strategic communications counsel and single point-of-contact for USLT leadership for internal and external communications Design & develop executive communications for the VP of US Operations, including but not limited to presentations and speeches, position papers, media relations and social media support Develop and implement an integrated internal & external strategic communications plan to help achieve the business unit market access goal & ensures alignment with the global market access strategy Increase awareness of Elanco and enhance reputation among key stakeholders Monitor the external environment in collaboration with the Market Intelligence group to understand competitor activities, communication opportunities and potential issues Monitor the external environment through media monitoring to anticipate, prioritize and prepare to manage possible issues, particularly those linked to Elanco current & new innovation Writes and edits communications material (press releases, standby statements, media alerts, affiliate alerts) regarding all topics linked to the US and Canada Hub Serve as key liaison with top-tier mainstream and trade media, securing proactive coverage and limiting/balancing coverage on issues Consult with VP of US Operations and USLT members to evaluate communications impact of business decisions Build network of communicators with other corporate and hub communicators Actively manages our rapid response system and in coordination with the Issues Director, develops tactics and produces talking points for USLT members and others throughout the business as appropriate Ensure proper management of internal and external resources linked to communications High understanding of the overall animal health industry, value proposition in agriculture and competitive landscaping Minimum 10+ years experience in animal health, marketing or agriculture communications’ roles Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Proven expertise in developing effective communication strategies and plans Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills Strong media relations and spokesperson experience Strong understanding of social media channels and demonstrated results Proven ability to network and influence members of company management at all levels. Must be comfortable and confident when interacting with members of the USLT and EEC members Organizational, project and conflict management proven skills Proven learning agility and ability to perform tasks independently with little hands-on management Needs to be a strategic thinker with agricultural business acumen and excellent leadership attributes Effective experience with vendor/agency management coordination Effective project management skills, including the ability to prioritize deeply and make appropriate trade off decisions Ability to influence key stakeholders and customer. High credibility within key forums: animal health industry, pertinent government officials and key-stakeholders.
