Senior Director - Public Relations
Description:The Director for Media and Public Relations in the Americas will be a key contributor to driving EPAM’s PR agenda and program. They will also be responsible for working with the company’s internal communications extensions as these areas further develop. This professional will support EPAM’s industry-focused business practices to drive awareness of the company’s services, client successes, and deep business and technology expertise in industries such as Financial Services, Retail and Distribution, Travel and Hospitality, Media and Entertainment and Healthcare and Life Sciences. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong writing and communication skills; be detail-oriented, while also seeing the “big picture”; bring flexibility, drive and multitasking skills; and thrive in a multi-faceted business with colleagues and executives through the world. Requirements: 12+ years of Public relations experience – either with an agency or in-house; Managing message development and media relationship building strategies and programs; Working with technology media and business media; Understanding of technology in a business environment; Thinking like an entrepreneur – smartly, swiftly and differently depending on the situation; Managing an external PR agency or network of agencies; Creating and extending PR programs to include blogs, social media and other Web 2.0 technologies as PR enablers; Working closely with the marketing and analyst relations professionals; Excellent communications skills, both written and oral; Solid writer and critical editor for press materials; Experience with public relations principles and best practices; Good knowledge of reaching the media and other influencers via traditional and social media such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.; Sensitivity to a multicultural, multinational workplace; Ability to work independently in a fast-moving and competitive environment; Proven, measurable success in achieving positive PR outcomes. Responsibilities: Create and drive the corporate PR agenda – in tandem with executives – as well as the messaging architecture and media training for key executives and spokespeople; Manage and respond to incoming media requests, confer with company executives on best practices and corporate policies; arrange and facilitate media interviews; Work with the COO, IBU leads and, in the future, EPAM’s PR agency to create news releases, online and traditional press kits, media interviews, press conferences, etc.; Initiate and maintain relationships with industry practice leaders and subject matter experts; Develop creative strategies to drive press coverage around products and partnerships; Build and maintain relationships with technology, trade, and business reporters/bloggers in print, broadcast and online media; Monitor the competitive landscape and respond in the press when applicable; Identify key industry trends and issues of concern to EPAM’s clients for press outreach; Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across the company as well as with clients and partners; Manage day-to-day engagement with a focus on: Conducting proactive press outreach to build more momentum in the media; Writing and editing news releases, and coordinating distribution of releases; Developing Q&As, holding statements and other written materials for use by senior leadership team with the media; Promoting byline articles or white papers about relevant business-technology topics for targeted publications across industry.
