Director of Consumer Marketing
Description:The Director of Consumer Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the consumer marketing and communication strategy for the Houston Chronicle Media Group. S/he develops consumer branding, positioning, and loyalty programs. S/he will play a key role in growing All Digital Access and print subscriptions, building email databases, and increasing traffic, engagement, and audience across each of our media brands and social platforms. S/he is accountable for assisting the consumer sales team to reach subscription acquisition, retention and revenue goals. You will: Oversee development of the marketing and communication plan in order to drive engagement, traffic, subscriptions, and loyalty for our Houston Chronicle Media Group products Develop branding, messaging and promotions that grab attention and drive awareness, consideration, purchase, and retention Partner with various cross-functional team leads across the organization including research, consumer sales, editorial, and creative services to set strategic priorities for marketing team Manage media partnership contracts from drafting, negotiating and execution Maintain consumer marketing expense budget Oversee team of marketing managers responsible for email newsletters, social, and traffic growth. Oversee consumer events and public relations that increase brand awareness and drive engagement Responsible for meeting consumer marketing goals including audience development and subscription revenue goals across core digital and print products Required Experience Minimum of 3 years marketing experience in audience development, preferable within a digital landscape Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred. Direct Response Marketing experience in a B2C environment required. Subscriber acquisition experience preferred. Proven track record of success launching and growing users and subscribers Strong project management and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities and tight deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and persuasively to senior management.
