Reporting into the Vice President of Global Marketing Communications for HID Global, the Director, Global Public Relations and Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing the company’s global public relations program and both internal and external corporate communications activities. This position will work closely with other marketing functions, such as regional marketing communications directors, creative services team, product marketing, market intelligence, field sales, business development and executive teams, for guidance, support and quick response to communications messaging requirements and public relations opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong writing background, as well as experience in developing and running public relations worldwide for all levels of the business within a B2B environment, preferably in technology companies. The candidate must possess outstanding writing and communications skills, a track record of demonstrated success as part of a dynamic marketing team and the ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment. Experience in global public relations and localization of written communications is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Support Vice President of Global Marketing Communications in developing a mid to long-term segment wide public relations and analyst relations function across the primary brand’s target markets to promote HID Global’s reputation and solutions offerings • Manage all aspects of the communications process including integrating common messaging throughout all company materials, presentations and speaking opportunities, social media, press materials, awards, proactive and reactive media relations, industry analysts, media tours, and ongoing company speakers program. • Directing corporate communications team and PR agencies worldwide responsible for developing, writing, managing and implementing the company’s global communications strategy and campaigns both internally and externally. • Directs the creation of all internal and external corporate level communications including news media content, corporate website content, employee intranet content, and communications support for other shared service functions. • As a critical partner to cross functional teams, responsible for planning, developing, and guiding management in all areas of communication strategy and processes to ensure alignment with the business needs and vision. This includes the development and implementation of both the company's communications strategy across business and end user arenas and internal employee facing communications. • Act as a key spokesperson for the company with partners, news media and industry influencers. • Influences the development and retention effectiveness of business division communication efforts. Manage a team that includes individual contributor staff, external agencies and other related communication resources, including supervision and direction for regional PR managers worldwide. • Lead employee communications efforts at a critical point of change, including monthly HID TV updates and employee communications emails to all employees. • Execute and measure online social media marketing strategies and programs that drive sales, customer retention, and brand awareness • Identify and manage ‘key industry topics and trends’ in support of segment campaigns for use within public relations campaign/ activities • Manage public relations measurement in Vocus, and compiling regular clip reports for distribution and office environment, including quarterly presentations. • Manage selection and contributions to industry awards programs • Working closely with product management and marketing executives to fine-tune external product and positioning messages • Research and manage thought leadership speaking engagements for executives Required Knowledge / Experience: • 7+ years public relations experience required and must be an experienced manager of both people and programs. • BS or BA degree, preferably in communications- or marketing-related discipline. • Very strong writing and positioning skills for all materials, including business communications. Experience in branding strategies and crisis management would be a plus. • Demonstrated hands-on management, planning, and bringing focus to the corporate PR function. • Proven and documented accomplishment in the development and execution of worldwide public relations programs. • Excellent verbal communication and leadership skills - excellent writer and editor with background in creating marketing and public relations content • Experience working with and managing relationships with external agencies and 3rd party vendors • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing. • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc. • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc. • All related software in industry • Familiarly with Vocus. • Travel and fieldwork including international travel, therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid US Passport. • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
