Public Relations Manager
Description:Jive is looking for a PR Manager with strong writing abilities, interpersonal and critical thinking skills, and savvy media relations experience. In addition the position requires someone who can quickly operate and multi-task across a variety of communications objectives, and has a deep understanding of how to navigate both the business and technology world. Reporting into the Senior Director of Communications and located at the company’s headquarters in Palo Alto, the PR Manager will be charged with working with the communications team and PR agencies to align efforts in support of Jive’s internal and external communication goals and objectives. Travel is minimal. RESPONSIBILITIES Media Relations Help develop and drive media relations plan that promotes Jive’s brand awareness and positions the company as an industry leader. Develop relationships with targeted media/reporters to help ensure Jive receives appropriate media coverage. Identify and create opportunities to obtain media coverage for Jive Software, the product portfolio, and Jive’s strong list of partners. Develop supporting media relations materials (fact sheets, response statements, news releases, briefing materials, etc.); help plan and manage integrated PR campaigns for product launches, partnership activity and customer communication opportunities. Help prepare subject matter experts for interviews and speaking opportunities. Help provide crisis/emergency communications and issues management support. Coordinate with communications team on agency management support, providing guidance, direction, and action steps, as needed.Employee Communications Support fellow Jivers with expert employee activities as needed, including internal communication around key product campaigns. Regularly share Jive and industry-related news to the company’s Jive-powered communication and collaboration hub. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years’ experience in public relations and media relations Experience working within a technology and/or consumer technology company Experience presenting to press outlets as well as internal audiences Portfolio of written communications and media contacts MS Office and Google Docs proficiency BA or BS with major that requires extensive writing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Highly organized Self-motivated work ethic Established media relationships Current with industry trends and competitive landscape Ability to create communication pieces quickly Out-of-the-box creative thinker CULTURAL ATTRIBUTES Communicator: You possess strong communication skills and enjoy working with customers.
