BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of the Director – Sales and Marketing, Latin America, the Marketing and Communications Manager, Latin America oversees all Channel Marketing and Communications for Kohler Co. in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. This includes managing all aspects of advertising, promotion and communication programs as well as managing the development, coordination and implementation of merchandising, marketing plans, short and long-term strategies, and promotional programs for the region. Determines market needs, analyzes competitive and Kohler Co. activities, and identifies opportunities to drive sales and deliver customer expectations. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES · Develops, implements, and manages regional marketing programs directed at promoting all Kohler Co. plumbing brands to meet the unique Latin American requirements. · Creates and administers showroom programs to optimize the effectiveness of the Registered Showrooms and Dealers in the region. · Develops, implements, and manages marketing budgets for Kohler and Sterling brands. · Creates and distributes all Kohler collateral literature, merchandising and POS promotional materials for the region taking into consideration specific country needs. · Manages Kohler participation in all trade and consumer shows including design, construction and setup of all displays. · Consults with Market Research, Area Managers, and other Marketing personnel to determine market potential by country to define Kohler Co.’s market penetration. · Prepares sales forecasts and projected market penetration, recommend sales policies and budget estimates based on demand forecast, and market potential. · Frequently interacts with customers and consumers to maintain a dynamic understanding of market trends and consumer trends. · Develops and executes the annual corporate advertising strategy. Manages vendor relationships with advertising agency, public relations firm, and other suppliers. · Develops and administers distributor and dealer co-op advertising programs including managing all promotional, advertising, and cobranding opportunities. · Coordinates the conversion of literature and electronic tools (including all corporate websites) from English to Spanish to meet the dual-language requirements in the region. · Manages all Kohler Co. promotional activities related to Social Media in the region. · Manages CRM campaign efforts to reach key influencers in each targeted country. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTRACTS Supervisory Relationships: · Reports to Director – Sales and Marketing, Latin America · One or more direct reports Organization Relationships: · Frequent contact with Sales Managers regarding marketing plans and programs, methods of distribution, market potential, promotional and advertising programs. · Frequent contact with Customer Service concerning scheduling and shipping of product. · Moderate contact with Controller and his/her staff regarding forecasting and budgets · Moderate contact with Legal regarding implications of pending legislation, trade group agreements and international codes. External Business Relationships: · Frequent contact with customers and outside suppliers of services. · Attend trade shows, seminars, marketing meetings, conventions. EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIEMENTS · Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required, MBA degree preferred with a marketing concentration. · Appropriate marketing experience desired, preferably with branded products sold through distribution. 6+ years of experience required. · Fluency in English and Spanish required, Portuguese fluency desired.
