Kum & Go is looking for a Communications Manager/Director responsible for all external and internal communications for the company. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and management of communications strategies and programs to increase awareness of Kum & Go’s brand and support the company’s overall Vision. This includes working with marketing, media relations and public relations agencies to develop PR campaigns that complement our overall marketing efforts. Another aspect of this role is the creation and execution of internal communications programs, tactics and vehicles to deliver various messages to our Store Support Center and store associates. Other Priorities Include: External Communications: Develops and implements a wide range of marketing, public and media relations strategies and tactics (news releases, media kits, backgrounders, media pitches, media alerts, media statements, talking points, crisis management, etc.). Works to secure positive marketing and news coverage from local, regional, trade and national media outlets (print and electronic) on different marketing events, promotions, sponsorships, products, services, promotions, new hires, etc. Researches and responds to requests for information from media and/or coordinates appropriate responses with designated and authorized spokesperson or information source. Manages PR agency. Internal Communications: Responsible for creating, developing and implementing a wide range of internal marketing, and communications strategies and tactics, including announcements, executive speeches, alerts, competitive announcements, celebrations, newsletters and internal media statements. Utilize various conventional and innovative communication tactics to deliver content. Work with VP of Marketing Communications and other senior management to develop a comprehensive marketing and media relations strategies to secure positive messaging and cascading of Kum & Go Vision and strategies. Promote Kum & Go mission, core values, and brand messaging to all associates. Special Projects: Special marketing programs including corporate sponsorships, consumer promotions, speech preparation, cause-related marketing, new corporate headquarters and other senior management projects. New Market Entry Strategies and Tactics: Develop a comprehensive marketing and media relations strategies that support our new store growth initiatives. Develops a “go-to-market” strategy that incorporates government relations, public relations, sponsorships, charitable giving and other marketing elements to generate positive excitement and engagement in our new store locations. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S) from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field. Minimum five to seven years in public/media relations, internal or corporate communications. Communications experience in agency, retail or corporate environment or other related fields. Experience in executing media relations programs, marketing campaigns, special events, community relations and conferences. Knowledge in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, marketing, mass communications or a related discipline area. Ability to act as an official spokesperson for the company. Handles high profile communications opportunities with polish while positively promoting the company. Ability to deliver results in fast-paced, high performance work environment is essential. Ability to adapt to new technologies, planning and revised timelines quickly. Possess proven skill in research and writing skills specific to executing news releases and media relations activities. Demonstrated ability to improve relationships with key internal stakeholders to strengthen Kum & Go’s brand, increase awareness of the Company and promote our corporate reputation. Applicable knowledge of the public relations, retail industry, marketing and/or communication principles and theories.
