Director, Public Relations
Description:he Director, Public Relations is responsible for creating and driving the Lord & Taylor PR strategy including maximizing exposure for the Lord & Taylor brand, which includes press for events, charitable initiatives, merchandise mix, and the overall brand. Responsibilities: • Drive execution of PR strategy to key media in all Lord & Taylor’s markets, with emphasis on NY press while analyzing press results to improve strategy and maximize opportunities • Key holder of important media relationships for the brand • Develop corporate communication messages for controversial situations and key messages and all written press materials • Oversee company’s PR budget • Proactively secure editorial features and credits for the Lord & Taylor brand and on product, as well as event and charitable initiatives • Direct the creation of seasonal lookbooks and product pitches with the Manager, PR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university (preferably in communications) • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public relations, preferably with agency experience, Retail experience, a plus • Very srong written and verbal communications skills • Experience with crafting pitches to drive press results • Ability to develop strong partners internally and externally across many different levels of the organization • Must be well-poised with a sense of command • Experience in managing and motivating direct reports as well as cross-functional peers • Experience in budget management and strong organizational skills • Possess a strong drive to take initiative and be resourceful • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of Cision and other PR tools Note: Only applications submitted online will be accepted.
