Description:Primary Duties This position works with the Corporate Communications and Product Communications teams to provide project management, communications and administrative support, both in terms of development and implementation of internal and external corporate and product communications projects and initiatives. Responsibilties Manage and support Corporate Communications activities including, but not limited to: • Execution of a variety of global strategic initiatives in conjunction with Lead Business Partner for Internal Communications (i.e. creation of comprehensive editorial calendar for corporate intranet, leading global employee engagement programs, etc.) • Creation and distribution of global weekly e-newsletter that highlights important news and events around the organization from both a global and hub perspective. • Plan and execute major company-wide initiatives, including All Company Meetings and coordination of hub-site Holiday Parties. • Serve as intranet content author/support provider for various Corporate, Internal Communications and site initiatives. • Serve as lead coordinator for select Lunch and Learns, Take a Break Sessions and other special events at all Massachusetts sites. Manage and support Product Communications activities, including, but not limited to: • Creating calendar/tracking mechanism for product communications initiatives and milestones • Occasionally staffing and effectively advocating important positions during Medical/Legal/Regulatory review meetings for communication materials for various internal and external initiatives/projects. • Assisting Product Communications team with developing and posting on Shire intranet (Iris) internal communications in support of Shire’s key therapeutic areas and products • Helping plan and execute logistics for special programs/events • Effectively interfacing with PR agencies, sometimes directing their activities, especially as it relates to internal communications and program/event logistics Coordinate administrative function for Corporate Communications and In-Line Communications including: a. Coordinate travel services for senior team members (Senior Director and above). b. Coordinate expense reporting for senior team members (Senior Director and above). c. Coordinate the raising of purchase orders and invoice processing, thus supporting proper execution of the team budgets (for Senior Director and above). d. Working with IR and global Communications Team, own the distribution of ad-hoc press releases and daily press clippings. e. Serve as primary point of contact and first line query resolution regarding all administrative related items. f. Work with and maintain positive relationships with both internal constituents and external vendors. Education and Experience Requirements • College degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing or public relations required. • At least four years’ experience working in a corporate environment, with a focus on communications and administrative support required. • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. • Experience managing projects, planning events, creating content and general understanding of graphic design principles required. • Experience with SAP software desired but not required. • Some experience working with charitable organizations desired but not required. Some experience working with a global organization desired but not required.
