Description:This position is a key team member in the delivery of metrics-driven digital PR and marketing programs for Tech Image clients. This Media Relations Manager is organized, detail oriented and able to balance multiple, complex projects at the same time. Strong communication skills foster excellence in client relationships, as well as among media/journalist relationships and internal teams that shape and deliver our client programs. The Media Relations Manager plays a critical role in the success of our PR and marketing programs and has the client relationship management, PR skills and social media acumen to thrive in our dynamic environment. The Media Relations Manager position is a team-oriented role within the company. Our team requires intelligent, highly passionate, collaborative and effective communicators. This position has the following responsibilities: Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Client Project Management Works with clients to understand business needs and objectives, create strategies identify appropriate response and timing, and implement programs to help achieve client goals Is an ambassador for digital best practices and integrates them into Tech Image's work flow and culture Manages time efficiently Provides regular two-way communication between the client and the Tech Image team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations Works with Tech Image team members to ensure effective internal communication on projects Helps foster teamwork and a constructive work environment Uses process tools (Basecamp) to improve project management and communications Builds trust among team members and clients Creates reports and presentations for client meetings/end of month reports Forms positive relationships with both the clients' internal resources as well as the Tech Image team to ensure we're surpassing client expectations and that we are delivering quality results Media Relations Works with client and internal team members to craft pitches that are both strategic and creative Defines media lists (traditional, social, digital influencers) for specific projects and pitches creative and provocative client stories for placement opportunities Conducts keyword research and make keyword recommendations that helps guide the word-choice for press releases and other content Leverages existing roster of media contacts while establishing and building new long-term relationships with key members of the media Facilitates interviews between journalists and client subject matter experts Provides PR counsel to both clients and internal team members as required Participates in Tech Image New Business Development Helps research and prepare for new business meetings Attends/makes presentations during new business meetings Additional responsibilities include: Leads Digital Best Practices with new ideas and implementation in order to keep Tech Image in the forefront of the digital PR and marketing behavior Is committed to timely project completion. Is sensitive to deadlines and is able to occasionally work on projects outside of traditional business hours Builds and Grows Client Relationships Suggest innovative and effective digital, social or traditional PR and marketing solutions to help clients achieve their objectives Develop media outreach and strategic plans Develop and execute traditional, digital and social media programs Conduct keyword research to optimize copy Develops social media programs to complement traditional PR and marketing programs Manages and edit client Wikipedia content Assists in leading client and/or media related meetings Writes bylines, blog posts or press releases as needed Participates in team meetings and creative brainstorm sessions Contributes insights about the client's industry and create opportunities Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Project management excellence Client relationship building and service Demonstrated job stability and performance Proven experience in managing projects cross-functionally within an organization (creative, PR, marketing) Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong ability to communicate effectively in front of groups, c-level executives and fellow team members Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well Extremely detail oriented Competence with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and strategies Education & Work Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, English, Journalism or Marketing preferred 5-7 years agency client services, public relations, marketing or journalism (post college) Experience with traditional media relations, digital PR and social media. Existing roster of media contacts preferred, specifically technology-facing media contacts Where do you fit?
