"The Regional Communications Manger (RCM) is responsible to develop, manage and measure corporate communications tactics and programs that align with the company's overall strategic communications plan to further the objectives of the markets within his/her purview. This person has day-to-day oversight of media relations and crisis/issues communications including the development of press releases, statements, talking points, key messaging, collateral, reports, presentations, digital communications, video production and media training. RCM works collaboratively with market leadership and subject matter experts to produce effective communications that drive awareness and understanding of the value of WellCare and its plans. DEPARTMENT: External Communications REPORTS TO: Director, External Communications Essential Functions: Proactively supports the protection and enhancement of WellCare's reputation by creating and managing a comprehensive, proactive 360 communication plan focused on achieving positive local and regional attention for the markets/plans in his/her purview. Establishes and maintains relationships with media to secure positive/balanced coverage that showcases WellCare's value proposition. Serves as a company spokesperson. Provides counsel to market leadership on communications approaches that will help drive impactful results that support business objectives. Creates market specific analytics reports that highlight communications outcomes per market needs. Consistently creates and sources content that differentiates and elevates the WellCare brand with a focus on member and associate testimonials. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: Able to be on-call and respond to media and in crisis situations on a 24/7 basis. *LI-SM1 Qualifications Candidate Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience is required. Candidate Experience: 5+ years of experience in communications in a corporate environment or public relations agency serving corporate clients is required; 10 years is preferred. 1+ year of experience in matrix-management environment is required. Knowledge of and experience with health care. Experience with publicly held companies. Proven track record working with senior management.
