SDLC Project Manager
Description:If you are a Software Project Manager with Waterfall / Agile / Scrum experience and you're looking for a challenging and rewarding position where you can make a big impact, please read on! You will be a PM within a matrixed organization supporting a Department of State client as assigned to numerous short term and long term projects. Your teams will vary in size and complexity and you will be asked to manage multiple concurrent projects. You will work with a team of PM’s that manage all the work across a portfolio over a 100 resources. This is a contractor environment and you will be working at the client site in Arlington, VA. The contract was just recently renewed and is very stable The project manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the activities of multiple IT project. The projects that you are managing will span the IT spectrum including software development, COTS deployments, as well as some limited infrastructure efforts. Projects are executed using the Agile/Scrum methodology. You will have supervisorial responsibilities are expected to write evaluations, mentor your team, and create a strong community culture. This position is responsible to oversee all aspects of the contract and related tasks. Ensures project deliverables are provided on time and within scope of the contract. Responsible for scheduling, coordination and completion of tasks required for steady state systems, maintenance, documentation, development and enhancements to web-based systems. Works with team to develop and deliver ROM and cost estimates on new requirements. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of the project. Prepares project management documentation, professional reports and presentations for upper management and the federal customer regarding status of project(s). Hosts multiple periodic internal and customer-facing status meetings. Works with Contracts, Finance, and HR to process contractual, financial, and personnel matters. Serves as the primary interface with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and other government management personnel across multiple program staff offices and customer agency representatives. Responsible for communications with and management of other contractors with deliverables for this contract. ** security clearance is required ** ** experience leading SDLC based projects in the gov’t space is required ** Skills Required • 5+ Years Project Manager experience in solutions delivery • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline; or a Business-related degree in Finance or equivalent direct experience • Experience in formalize SDLC based project management is a requirement • Secret Security Clearance is a requirement • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience post certification; Scrum Master, PMI - ACP preferred Exposure and understanding of full project lifecycle (analysis, development, integration, deployment, test, UAT, deployment) • Experience following structured Project Management best practices and policy •Experience with Web Application O&M and development *Experience developing ROMs, costs estimates, creating project plans, schedules, RTMs, • Experience with client engagement at a project level • Familiarity with government contracts, funding, and task order management; must have strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working with senior management, decision makers, and demonstrates business acumen • Experience with key project management tools: MS Projects, Office, SharePoint • Commitment to project success as it may require working overtime hours during critical project phases • Motivation and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Self-motivated and ability to grasp new concepts and technical skills quickly • Leadership skills to manage and motivate teams of 6+ FTEs • Strategic mindset and ability to foresee upcoming opportunities and threats • Highly organized, good time management skills, and detailed-oriented • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Skills Preferred • Experience with Software Development and Maintenance • Change & Configuration Management experience • Professionally assertive, but fosters a team environment • MS Project Server
