Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager to join its Alexandria IT practice and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities. As part of our team, the Manager will utilize various IT methodologies and models to execute client projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform as a project lead for diverse technical teams and provide an overarching project framework, supporting documentation, recommend financial and staffing plans and develop completion schedules to support the goals and requirements associated with the assigned projects. Serve as Scrum Master, as requested, for those Projects utilizing the Agile development methodology. Document project plan activities, resource estimates and timelines for all planning efforts, design, development, testing, implementation; risk and issue registries; stage gate reviews and approvals; training and documentation needed; and support needs to deliver a system or infrastructure project. Review project proposal(s) or plan(s) to determine time frame, funding limitations, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project. Assist with the creation of appropriate SOWs/PWSs to support segments of project work. Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority as well as facilitate risk and/or issue mitigations. Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required. Provide guidance and documentation to the USPTO for all aspects necessary to deliver a project design or technical recommendation including planning, architecture, design, development, legacy migration, configuration management, build environments, testing, security, delivery and operations. Prepare project reports for Government TOM, client, or others. Develop PMO management plans, project plans and transition plans. Support the maintenance of the project’s SharePoint repository. Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization). Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials. Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management. Qualifications: Minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field. Minimum of 8 years of project management and business consulting experience. Experience in project management office operations gained through education, experience or skill certification. Experience overseeing the execution of projects to ensure goals and objectives are met within established milestones. PMP certification required. Proficient with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, EPMS type tool Ability to present technical and non-technical information to business and other stakeholders Ability to execute Systems development/Infrastructure upgrades/ maintenance projects within SDLC Experience with Agile Scrum methodology CSM, a plus Experience in PMO-related tasks, specifically in system design and development. Information technology PMO experience required. Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees. U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required. Travel may be required. Coach and mentor junior staff members. Ability to work overtime required on occasion. Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements. Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
