PROJECT MANAGER (REMOTE / TELECOMMUTE)
Description:About the Job SiteVision, located in Roanoke, Virginia, is currently seeking well-rounded senior level project/production manager to join our team. Selected candidates will work in a remote / telecommuting capacity, interacting daily with members of the development, hosting, and executive teams and our clients. Our company focuses on taking care of our customers and delivering intuitive, reliable solutions. We develop enterprise level, custom web applications that include Emergency Management Systems and ArcGIS Mapping Solutions. Position Overview The project manager is responsible for oversight and improvement of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, work breakdown, and tracking progress toward completion within budget and timeline, and project documentation. Candidates should be highly experienced supervising software development professionals, implementing SDLC best practices and workflows, and scaling teams to meet a growing business portfolio. The candidate will be a direct report to the President. Responsibilities Managing the development team to reduce non-development task load and ensure completion of projects on-time and on-budget. Identifying and implementing best practices, tools, and workflows to streamline software development. Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their Problems, or satisfy their expectations; and remains committed to providing quality products and services. Communicate with individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Resolves communication bottlenecks and defines responsibilities for individual software development team members and acts as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for SiteVision’s hosting, customer support, and executive teams. Identifies problems; solicits input from team members; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, recommend solutions to the executive team, and implement. Facilitates requirements definition and discovery and ensures clear requirements are provided to the engineering team. Manage the software development team as business continues to grow. This entails defining new roles, hiring and supervision of new talent, and team reorganization as necessary to scale growth. Establish a Quality Assurance program, initially performing QA tasks and recruiting and hiring Quality Assurance talent. Qualifications 8 - 10 years of IT project/production management experience, including supervisory experience of software development professionals and on-time and on-budget delivery of applications to customers. A thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques, tools and methodologies, including waterfall and Agile/SCRUM. Strong familiarity with traditional and agile software development methodologies. Experience gathering and analyzing requirements via wireframe creation and writing specifications. Experience with Quality Assurance best practices including automated and manual testing. Desired Qualifications (not required) PMP Certification Agile SCRUM Master Certification ColdFusion/CFML application development background a plus (although this is not a software development position) DevOps experience a plus Experience with JIRA and Atlassian product suite a strong plus
