The Job: The digital team behind Real Simple is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced project manager. In this role, your primary focus will be to execute the development and ongoing evolution of digital products and services, including a responsive website, mobile apps, e-commerce, and other standalone digital products in collaboration with the General Manager and Senior Product Manager. Responsibilities: The Project Manager will work with the Senior Product Manager to lead the digital product team in the day-to-day development and execution of innovative and best in class digital products. He or she will play a key role in the ongoing development of the digital business and work closely with editorial, sales, and marketing teams. This position is also responsible for executing solutions to meet goals for KPI’s outlined by the product team. Lead multiple concurrent projects from inception through post-launch. Ensure clear and timely communication occurs continuously through the project's lifecycle. Translate business & feature requirements into tasks for design & development teams. Serve as scrum master, project managing the agile process, including: daily scrums, grooming the backlog, story estimation, sprint planning, handling interrupts, and post-sprint reporting. Escalate critical issues in a timely manner; offer solutions on how issues can be resolved. Create clear and concise documentation, including meeting notes and user stories Ensure all projects follow the site’s quality guidelines for performance and usability. Manage QA processes, gather UAT signoffs, and facilitate seamless production launches. Manage third-party vendors on projects. Maintain the brand’s product development roadmap, working with product team & upper management to prioritize new initiatives The ideal candidate has: Strong communication and collaboration skills, is proactive and responsive, has the ability to simplify, and can prioritize work across multiple projects. Technical experience: You must have a proven ability to work directly with developers and engineers to solve implementation issues and to articulate technical issues to non-technical team members. You will be responsible for making sure your products meet the site's standards for performance, scalability, and security. Ability to rally a team: You must have demonstrated skill in managing an extended cross-functional team of editorial, design, sales, business, and technical stakeholders. You should excel at building relationships at all levels of the organization and at understanding needs and translating between these different groups. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience successfully managing web development projects, preferably consumer-oriented Outstanding organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills A strong interest in digital product development Results-oriented with ability to bridge the gap between business and technical stakeholders to effectively and efficiently execute and deliver on a product roadmap Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum product management and with web-based project management tools, running daily stand-ups, sprint planning, lean product testing, etc. Familiarity with Drupal (or similar content management tools), JIRA (or similar project management tools), and web technologies used in managing content-driven websites, including HTML/CSS, Javascript, enterprise CMS tools, analytics, and ad serving.
