Description:

Serve as the strategist and brand advocate on all social platforms for Fuel Up to Play 60, the nations’ largest in-school health and wellness program, founded by the National Dairy Council (NDC) and NFL.  This role will build communities between like-minded individuals and key influencers, including youth, to help drive brand messaging and outstanding social/digital results.  Working alongside an Analyst and Editor, you'll monitor conversations across social and digital landscapes (blogs, websites, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and produce and implement real-time and planned consumer-friendly content to help build our existing social communities and increase overall engagement.  This role requires someone who is strategic and can lead and drive the execution of engaging and impactful content, leveraging real time data and insight.  This person will effectively manage conversations by crafting strategic and impactful responses, and tell and share stories with members of our social communities.

  • Provide strategic direction to the newsroom, Fuel Up to Play 60 teams and business partners, and act as liaison with agencies to provide execution and oversight of the content for the Fuel Up to Play 60 social properties.
  • Provide strategic direction, manage and execute on paid social strategies to ensure content is delivered to targeted audiences to drive engagement and reach.
  • Track and respond to conversations/comments on all owned Fuel Up to Play 60 social embassies by drawing on real-time insights from Analyst.
  • Execute planned and opportunistic content, examine analytics for Fuel Up to Play 60 social embassies (process with USDA governance)
  • Keep a pulse on daily culturally relevant/social trends, US/Global news and health and wellness-related conversation to consider real-time engagement, proactive content and amplification opportunities.
  • Key execution steps and additional responsibilities include:
    • Identify real-time content opportunities as appropriate.
    • Execute content posting per platform based on content calendar(s) and real-time opportunities.
    • Engage community members/consumers in real-time, answering comments and engaging appropriately in a timely manner.
    • Participate in operational Newsroom meetings and provide relevant updates, calls for content, etc., relevant to platforms currently being managed.
    • Provides update for Daily Newsroom Rundown.
    • Adhere to Fuel Up to Play 60 brand/style guidelines.
    • Keep a daily pulse on trends and consider insights from Analyst for real-time content and engagement opportunities.
  • Track metrics and insights (in conjunction with Analyst and Editor) to feed into reporting, content performance tracking and ongoing content development.
  • Works in conjunction with the Editor to craft weekly metrics and insight report to be sent out every Tuesday, analyzing prior week's content.
  • Work in conjunction with Fuel Up to Play 60 Communications team and Editor to create monthly editorial calendar.
  • Participate in the analysis of both content performance overall channel growth, develop key insights and help shape recommendations to shift content strategy based on results.
 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field; 8-10 years of experience in communications, including a consumer-audience focus

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of general business strategy, child health &  industry trends and issues, program logistics, measurement and evaluation, as well as communications industry trends and best practices
  • Demonstrate strong ability to write, edit and proofread to create high quality internal and external communications content
  • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
  • Demonstrate leadership ability to provide direction and consult to team members
  • Correspond with agency partners and help manage agency relationships
  • Effective team player with sharp focus on integrating their work into the larger company communications strategy
  • Ability to build relationships and motivate participation from diverse stakeholders toward common goal
