Scope/Overall Summary of Role:

 

Business Analysts undertake the tasks of understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis

 

Specific areas of responsibility:

  • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Investigates complex business processes to create process efficiencies
  • Performs feasibility and cost/benefits analysis as it relates to business needs
  • Formulates logical statements of business, and/or engineering requirements; researches and evaluates alternative solutions
  • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for new solutions engagements to development team/system vendors
  • Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Communicates and applies project standards.
  • Communicates on project milestones to all levels of the organisation

Person Specification

Education / Professional Qualifications:

  • Business and/or Information Systems Degree preferable
  • Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required
  • Software Development Life Cycle Training and Experience

 

 

Relevant experience

  • Strong experience in Financial services, accounting, invoicing and payroll processes.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.
  • Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
  • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mind-sets.
  • Maintains business confidentiality
  • Understands application of Data Protection Guidelines
