Description:On Call Rate:$4 hour pager Overtime Rate:All Inclusive Rate + $10 Call Back Minimum: Holiday Rate:All Inclusive Rate + $10 shift:8 hour shifts Minimum Years Experience Required:5 Certification Requirements: General:ACLS, BLS, PALS, CNOR Nursing:No Certifications Needed Dialysis:No Certifications Needed South Peninsula Hospital's Surgical Services Department is searching for a 6 month temporary contract with a Perioperative RN Educator to mentor and train new RN's to circulate and possibly scrub (with help other current staff in place) as well as to help develop and implement surgical orientation and competencies.South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22 bed acute care and 28 bed long term care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The surgery unit consists of two rooms, one main general room and another for local endoscopy procedures. The working environment is generally pleasant, clean, and well maintained. Approximately 1600 cases a year, including endoscopy, heavy in orthopedics including spines, total knee and arthroscopy. Uro/Gyn, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, minimal ENT and Urology.Job Summary: Responsible for assessing, developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for perioperative personnel to maintain competency, continuing education, and leadership development.Primary Responsibilities:1. Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.2. Assess the environment to determine educational needs of patients and perioperative personnel.3. Plan and provide perioperative personnel education.4. Provide educational resources for perioperative personnel. 5. Act as a clinical resource for perioperative personnel using evidence-based standards and professional guidelines.6. Assist perioperative personnel in the evaluation of current practice through quality and process improvement measures. 7. Collaborate with other members of the health care team as required.8. Facilitate and monitor perioperative personnel compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory and accreditation standards.9. Mentor team members as required.10. Manage all aspects of educational projects to include fiscal responsibility.11. Assist perioperative personnel in assessing their individual learning needs and styles.12. Maintain perioperative employee educational data and records as required.13. Facilitate student learning experiences in the perioperative setting.14. Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.15.
