Description:On Call Rate:No Call Overtime Rate:All Inclusive Rate + $10 Call Back Minimum: Holiday Rate:All Inclusive Rate + $10 shift:varies- candidates must be flexible Minimum Years Experience Required:2 Certification Requirements: General:BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS preferred Nursing:No Certifications Needed Dialysis:No Certifications Needed ***LABOR & DELIVERY EXPERIENCE A MUST******MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT ******EXPERIENCE IN MULTIPLE ARES DESIRED*******Pertains to Travel OB RN's:The nurse is on-call for 7 days in a row, 12 hours each day. The RN will receive a guaranteed 40 hours for the week. The nurse will not receive on-call or call back pay since they are already "on-call". The on-call nurse will have 30 minutes to respond to any page and cannot leave the island. On-call will rotate through staff every week, so each nurse will be on-call every 3 weeks.****Position Description and Duties: Responsible for providing patient care to Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and Neonatal patients in accordance with hospital policies/procedures, nursing standards and practices. Will be required to care for complex OB/neonatal patients who may require stabilization of life threatening conditions. This care includes: management of multiple IV lines, medication administration, and the use of monitoring equipment. Will provide basic education to patients and their families on health maintenance, medications, disease process, treatment, diagnostic tests, procedures and discharge instructions. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with co-workers, ancillary staff and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Knowledge, skills & ability: Knowledge of professional nursing care principles, practices and procedures. Professional skill in operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment and assisting with procedures. Ability to maintain current BLS, NRP and Fetal Monitoring certification. Nurse must possess the following:A current (and not expiring during the time employed here) BLS & NRP certification.Flexibility with work schedules.Ability to stand for long hours if necessary.Abilitiy to read and interpret Fetal Monitor strips. Recent (within the last 2 years) fetal heart monitoring class preferred.Ability to work 12 hour shifts.A valid and unrestricted Alaska Nursing License.
