Description:

Kinnser Software is looking for a mid-level Database Developer with strong SQL development and optimization skills to join our development team. In addition to database development responsibilities, the individual may be called upon to assist our technical support department in troubleshooting customer issues, where applicable.

Specific responsibilities include:

Play a key role in building and maintaining large-scale public facing, high volume based web applications.
Develop new, optimized, SQL (stored procedures and adhoc).
Enhance existing SQL for new features and/or performance.
Help identify bottleneck queries and work with development/architects on finding ways to optimize long running or blocking SQL.
Analyze data to find inconsistencies.
Participate in ongoing database design.
Design tools to assist in the management of the database environment.
Support the rest of the development team in the effective utilization of database.
Create adhoc reports for management teams.
Proactively participate in the ongoing development of applications that meet the needs of our customers.
Deliver new functionality and change requests for existing applications in a fast and efficient manner.
Develop and execute methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance.
Other duties as assigned.


Position Skills and Experience:

5+ years database development experience.
Demonstrable experience with SQL and SQL Server 2005-2008 Development (including stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, efficient SQL coding, indexing).
Strong ETL background using DTS, SSIS, command line and other technologies.
Experience with database scaling a plus.
Experience with high availability, high performance design is a plus.
Experience working in a web development environment a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a good sense of humor.
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Proven ability to work as a productive team member as well as on solo projects.
A solid understanding of the principles of good software design.
