Description:

Senior Network Engineer _ 6081400532_TxDMV Solicitation

Worker will be responsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks.  Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on site needs.  Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, and documents the solution for ongoing support.  Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects.  Provides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions.  Requires experience in network administration (MPLS, Voice services, DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.).  Specific job duties involve:

 

{C}·         Troubleshoot, resolve, and document customer reported network issues via the approved DMV ticket system.

{C}·         Provide configuration recommendation and assistance in customer service deployment.

{C}·         Recreate reported issues in lab with Infrastructure configuration and topology.

{C}·         Work with DCS escalation and IT Infrastructure Networking team to investigate and networking hardware defects.

{C}·         Analyze data traces using protocol analyzers to identify anomalies and provide solutions.

{C}·         Ensure customer reported issues are resolved to meet TxDMV’s IT SLAs.

 

            Other Special Requirements: 

{C}·         Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

{C}·         This position requires travel of up to 10% of the time to TxDMV regional offices around the state of Texas.

 

II.                WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

            Minimum Requirements:

Experience designing, implementing, managing, and operating support of Network Infrastructure.

Working experience in the data networking industry.

Experience with firewalls, network security, and/or Application Delivery Switches.

Extensive knowledge of MPLS and EIGRP Routing.

Experience performing highly complex network engineering work.

Extensive knowledge and experience troubleshooting Layer-2/3 protocols for example, VLANs, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, IPv4/6, ARP, RIP, NAT, and Layer-4 protocols (TCP, UDP).

Thorough understanding of application protocols, HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, RTSP, SIP, Diameter, and DNS.

Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Strong learning aptitude.

Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.

Contribute to technical documentation/knowledge base for internal and/or external use.
